WClapham Leisure Centree have recently received this notification regarding a consultation around Clapham Leisure Centre. This is your opportunity to share your views on what you want to see more of and what should be improved.

Please complete the online questionnaire (link below) and also write to us to let us know your views

——————-

Consultation around Clapham Leisure Centre

Working in partnership with GLL (Greenwich Leisure Limited), we want to hear service users’ and residents’ views to make sure  that Clapham Leisure Centre is an outstanding facility that people want to use, and enjoy using.

We have produced two questionnaires – one aimed at adults and another for children and young people. We want to know what people would like to see more of, what they think should be improved, and how they would like to get more involved.

How can residents get involved?

To get the views of junior patrons, a survey aimed at children and young people under 16 years will be distributed through local schools and youth groups. We will also be holding a series of focus groups throughout the consultation.

The final date for submitting your views is Friday 21 November 2014.

Clapham Old Town buses

Here is a notice we have just received regarding changes to access for Clapham Old Town.

PROPOSALS TO BAN VEHICLES (EXCEPT BUSES) FROM ENTERING THE CLAPHAM OLD TOWN BUS STAND AND TO CHANGE A CYCLE LANE ON THE PAVEMENT AND PARKING AND LOADING PLACES IN OLD TOWN AND THE PAVEMENT

[NOTE:  This notice is about proposals to stop vehicles in the western arm of Old Town from entering the Old Town bus stand (except for buses), to extend the cycle lane on the south-west side of The Pavement which would involve moving a car club parking place with the loss of some residents’ parking space, and the conversion of a loading place in Old Town into shared-use residents’/business/pay and display/pay by phone parking space.  Objections may be made – see paragraph 6.]

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth propose to make the Lambeth (Prescribed Routes) (No. -) Traffic Order 201-, the Lambeth (Clapham “C”) (Parking Places) (No. -) Order 201-, the Lambeth (Car Club) (Parking Places) (No. -) Order 201- and the Lambeth (Loading Places) (No. -) Order 201-, under sections 6, 45, 46, 49 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

(NOTE: In this notice “the western arm of Old Town” means that length of Old Town which lies on the west side of Clapham Old Town bus stand and The Polygon and fronts Nos. 26 to 42 (even numbers) Old Town.)

  1. The general effect of the Orders would be, as part of the Clapham Old Town Regeneration Project, to:

(1)  ban vehicles in the western arm of Old Town from entering the Clapham Old Town bus stand, unless that vehicle is a bus;

(2)  extend the length of the contra-flow cycle lane on the south-west side of The Pavement so that it links up with one of the paths over Clapham Common;

(3)  move the car club parking place on the south-west side of The Pavement further north-west so as to accommodate the extension of the cycle lane described above (this would be achieved by converting 18 metres of residents’ parking space into 12 metres of car club parking space and 6 metres of “at any time” waiting restrictions (double yellow lines));

(4)  convert the loading place on the west side of Old Town, outside Nos. 1 and 18 The Polygon, into shared-use residents’/business/ pay and display parking space.

  1. The proposed Orders are required to improve road safety and facilities for pedal cyclists and to meet changes in demand for parking space.
  1. If you have any enquiries, please telephone the Council’s Transportation Group on 020 7926 0728.
  1. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and documents giving detailed particulars about them (including maps) are available for inspection between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, at: the offices of Lambeth Borough Council’s Transportation Group, 2nd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP. To arrange inspection please telephone 020 7926 0209.
  1. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to Barbara Poulter, Transportation Group, London Borough of Lambeth, 2nd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP, by 7th November 2014. Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter.

Notification received of changed to controlled parking in Clapham

—————————————————————–

There are a number of proposed changes within the Clapham C Controlled Parking Zone area that are proposed to begin in mid November.

We have had some early stakeholder meetings and some of the issues that have so far been discussed include;

          Short term bay provision in Old Town for business use,

          The shift of shared residents/pay and display bays in Grafton Square and;

          Consolidating times of operation between Belmont Road and Belmont Close.

We are also aware of the area based scheme improvement that is likely to be proposed for the Clapham Old town area in the future.

It is our intention to circulate draft consultation materials to ward members before they are finalised. However, we would be interested to hear if you have anything else to add regarding any of the issues raised above, or if you are aware of further issues and/or complaints that affect your wards regarding the controlled parking zones within the Clapham C area before the consultation materials are put together.

If you have any comments you need to respond with your comments to the address below by 29th October 2008
