Venn StreetHere is a notice we have received regarding loading and unloading in Bromell’s Road.

PROPOSAL TO BAN LOADING AND UNLOADING AT ANY TIME IN BROMELL’S ROAD AND VENN STREET AND TO CONVERT A PARKING PLACE IN BROMELL’S ROAD INTO A LOADING PLACE

[NOTE:  This notice is about proposals to (a) ban the loading and unloading of vehicles at any time, at and near the junction of Bromell’s Road and Venn Street, for safety reasons;  and (b) convert a pay and display parking place in Bromell’s Road into a loading place, so as to provide an alternative loading/unloading facility for goods vehicles. Objections may be made – see paragraph 6.]

  1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Lambeth propose to make the Lambeth (Clapham “C”) (Parking Places) (No. -) Order 201- and the Lambeth (Waiting and Loading Restriction) (Amendment No. -) Order 201-, under sections 6, 45 and 124 of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
  1. The general effect of the Orders would be to:
  • ban the loading and unloading of vehicles at any time on both sides of Bromell’s Road and Venn Street between the junction of those two roads and the parking places nearest that junction (this would be instead of the ban on loading/unloading which currently applies between midnight and 7 a.m. on Mondays to Sundays);
  • convert a pay and display parking place on the south side of Bromell’s Road, outside Nos. 40 to 48 Bromell’s Road, into a loading place (the loading place would operate at any time and be for the use of goods vehicles only for periods of not more than 30 minutes, no return within 2 hours).
  1. The proposed Orders are required because the loading/unloading of vehicles at and near the junction of Bromell’s Road and Venn Street is obstructing drivers’ visibility and it is therefore necessary to ban this so as to improve road safety. A new loading place would be provided to offer an alternative loading/unloading facility for goods vehicles.
  1. If you have any enquiries, please telephone the Council’s Transportation Group on 020 7926 1060.
  1. A copy of each of the proposed Orders and documents giving detailed particulars about them (including maps) are available for inspection between 9.30 am and 4.30 pm on Mondays to Fridays inclusive (except on bank/public holidays), until the last day of a period of six weeks beginning with the date on which the Orders are made or, as the case may be, the Council decides not to make the Orders, at: the offices of Lambeth Borough Council’s Transportation Group, 2nd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP. To arrange inspection please telephone 020 7926 0209.
  1. All objections and other representations relating to the proposed Orders must be made in writing and all objections must specify the grounds on which they are made and should be sent to Barbara Poulter, Transportation Group, London Borough of Lambeth, 2nd Floor, Blue Star House, 234-244 Stockwell Road, London SW9 9SP, by 7th November 2014. Any objection may be communicated to, or be seen by, other persons who may have an interest in this matter.
